It has been eventually settled, and all detailed arrangements entered into, for "our Eleven" to go out to Australia. The agreement contains, besides providing for various perquisites, that each cricketer shall receive £150 for his services, his expenses paid out, first-class cabin, and return by the overland route. They sail in the Great Britain on the 18th of October, play their first match in Melbourne on Christmas-day, and leave Australia on the 15th March. It is expected that they will be back in England about the 26th of April. The players are H. H. Stephenson, of Esher, Surrey (captain); Edward Stephenson, of Sheffield; Roger Iddison, Bedale, Yorkshire; George Griffith, Ripley, Surrey; William Mudie, Kennington, Surrey; Thomas Sewell, jun., Mitcham, Surrey; George Wells, London; Charles Laurence, Hoxton, Middlesex; William Mortlock, Kennington, Surrey; George Bennett, Shorn, Kent; William Caffyn, Reigate, Kent; and Thomas Herne, Chalfont, St. Peter's, Buckinghamshire.
    H. H. Stephenson is appointed Captain of the Eleven, and Messrs. Hearne, Mortlock, Caffyn, and E. Stephenson, a Committee of Management. Mr. Mallam, the agent of Messrs. Spiers and Pond, of Melbourne, was present at the meeting last Friday week at Birmingham, to complete the arrangements. Having signed and sealed, each man pays the penalty of £50 if he throws up his engagement. The total expenses which Messrs. Spiers and Pond guarantee are expecetd to amount to nearly £6,000."
